I can’t believe it has taken me this long to blog these! Since we were doing a destination wedding in Maui, this couple opted to include a session separate from their wedding day coverage. This allowed some additional portrait time for the two of them! We chose to do sunrise a few days prior to the wedding for their “Newlywed” photos and IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT!
Their precious daughters joined us as well. They got to frolic around the empty beach while we took their couple’s portraits! Come late morning, this beach in particular is usually full of people enjoying the beauty. As you can see, we had it all to our selves! The family showed up in matching outfits as is more of a tradition in the Hawaiian culture and I loved it!
Sunrise sessions in Hawaii are seriously the way to go. The beaches are empty. The colors of the sky are unreal. And there is just this serene feel to it all! To say I’m obsessed is an understatement. I mean, the cotton candy sky in contrast with the teal waters and islands in the background.
While it is hard to beat Maui sunrise photos, I get to capture a sunrise elopement in Kauai in a couple of months! Woo! I cannot wait to see what the island presents us with! Each day and sunrise is so unique and special. Blocking out a couple of hours separate from your elopement or wedding time is a great way to incorporate some extra portraits and variety of scenery into your coverage. It also allows some extra alone time for the couple. For these two, their wedding was up in the high hills of Maui at Lona Ridge Estates so the beach was no where near! They knew they wanted some portraits on the beach so this was a perfect option.
If you enjoyed their Maui sunrise photos, you’re going to loveeeee looking through their other sessions. Peek at the Oregon Coast Engagement Session and the Maui Destination Wedding for this couple as well, because they’re just too cute not to! If you’re interested in a Hawaii session, let’s chat! I have special pricing specific to the islands. Also if you catch me while I’m already there, you will get “local” pricing!
