Ohhhhhh these two! They were a late addition to my 2019 Weddings to photograph this year. And I am SO glad we found each other! Even if engagement sessions take place only 2 weeks before the wedding, they are still so valuable to the whole photographic experience! When she suggested we do their engagement session at Smith Rock State Park where they had their first date, you know I just couldn’t resist! We didn’t hike up to the top like they did on their date. However, I think we were able to capture the beauty of the park in all of its sunset glory!

Between bonding over our love of beefy rescue dogs. And Morgan texting me the night before their session telling me about her getting hit in the face with a softball and maybe having a black eye… we became fast friends! She also asked me if I could incorporate Backgammon into their pictures. How could you not be smitten with these two!

I received a text from Morgan after posting just two sneak peek images from their session on Instagram. She told me how excited her fiancé is to see more and can’t wait to receive them. He was the one who didn’t think they needed a photographer!! I may be just a little biased… but y’all, IT IS WORTH IT! Document these moments!

We explored Smith Rock State Park for a couple of hours. Furthermore joked around, and got to know each other even better! We danced on the edges of cliffs (literally). Laughed our way through awkward wardrobe changes, patrolled for rattlesnakes, and chased high school girls looking for the perfect pic for “the gram” out of their photo location. Their wedding is coming up in a little over a week and I already can’t wait to photograph (and hang out with) them again!
