Follow along for this amazing Cannon Beach Oregon elopement story! When these two planned their June wedding, there was no way to predict the global pandemic would put everything to a crashing halt. You know what it couldn’t stop? These two getting married. This day turned out to be the perfect solution!
With uncertainty on top of uncertainty, even a back up plan was hard to come up with because we didn’t even know if parks or beaches would be open to the public. We had a few back up plans in line – just in case and all watched the regulations and restrictions like crazy making sure to follow everything as recommended. My Type A personality kicked in and the stars aligned and these two were able to snag an incredible AirBNB overlooking the Pacific with the perfect yard to say their vows in.
Just because the day wasn’t what they initially planned, doesn’t mean it has any less significance or important aspects. She wore the sweetest floral dress and he wore orange socks hand knitted by his bride. They exchanged love letters and personal vows in front of their parents with a live stream for all of their friends to still be a part of. There was even a piece of lace from Martine’s mother’s wedding dress holding her bouquet together!
We snuck down to the beach for a first look. With a hint of upcoming rain, Mother Nature ensured that we had the beach nearly to ourselves. The sky opened up when we stepped foot back inside the house to get ready for the ceremony. Gratefully, we had a dry ceremony and adventure time!
Following the ceremony, we adventured down to the coast. We stopped along our walk for photos and dance moves along the way. The Oregon Coast is such a magical place with its wide sand, towering rocks coming out of the water, and towering pines lining the sand. We waded through beach creeks, explored caves, and checked tide pools for starfish before making our way back. At the house, there was a pie and guacamole celebration with their parents before calling it a day for the Newlyweds.
These intimate days are truly special and especially during these times. Thank you for including me in your limited “guest” count. I loved capturing every moment for them to share and relive during this Cannon Beach Elopement in Oregon.
Now in a year, we get to play and celebrate all over again. 2021 will bring the larger wedding and celebration they originally planned. It is a win win! To see more of this precious pair, check out their engagement session in The Columbia River Gorge here!
