First off, let’s just say Zoe is my spirit sister, I swear. I knew after their engagement session last fall that their spring wedding was going to be so special. When the day finally arrived, I was absolutely blown away. The Thyme Garden is a PERFECT setting for a spring wedding!
I always try to visit venues prior to the wedding day if possible. But because this one was quite a distance from my house, I didn’t get the pleasure. As I pulled into the venue via a rustic wooden bridge over a trickling creek, I should have known exactly what the day was going to bring. Proceeded ahead to the guest parking lot I was immediately greeted by a large field FILLED with yellow and white flowers. *Insert happy dance and creative brain going crazy here*! It only got better and better!
Zoe ran around in her Birks all throughout portraits in a beautiful princess-style ballgown. (Obviously not technical terms but that is not my area of expertise!). She had the most perfect amount of natural makeup, and a bouquet full of wildflowers. They both just radiated joy and excitement of what was to come! After a lakeside first look, ceremony among the trees, a first dance for the record books. And tear-inducing toasts Zoe turned to me and said:
“Can we go into the creek in my dress?”.
I don’t think the sentence was fully out of her mouth before I was practically sprinting to the creek! These two were down for any and every idea I had. We galloped through fields (check out Ryan’s epic frolic below). We twirled, we slow danced, we laid in hammocks, and you know for damn sure we got in that creek!
Days like this completely renew my love for what I do and I’m so lucky to feel that way after EVERY wedding. Not only is it my privilege to capture love stories, memories and moments throughout the day, but I want you to have FUN and enjoy your wedding to the fullest! Some people want to prioritize moments with their family, so that is exactly what we do! Other people want to breathe and enjoy one on one (plus me hehe) time with their new spouse. Some want a balance of the two! I am there to capture it as YOU want, and I think that is exactly what we accomplished this past weekend.
Cheers to Zoe and Ryan for being incredible individuals, and an even more stellar pair. Enjoy this small glimpse into their wedding day and you can find all of the fabulous vendors listed at the bottom as well! I’ll see y’all next year for your mountain top, anniversary session… 😉
