Major Heart Eyes For This Columbia River Gorge Elopement

Throwing it back to warm summer nights with this Columbia River Gorge Elopement at Government Cove! I have been thinking back on this day lately and since these two just welcomed their sweet little babe. I figured this was the perfect time to relive it!

Welcome Home To This Sweet Family

As new Oregonians, these two knew they wanted some pretty views and relatively easy accessibility for their elopement. But were pretty open to ideas beyond that. Which meant I got to put together all sorts of location ideas for them. From waterfalls to riverside to the most fabulous coves! They took a day to visit and check them all out deciding Government Cove was the perfect place for their elopement.

Scouting The Perfect Location

They booked adjoining rooms at the historic Columbia Gorge Hotel (which is an incredible space as is and if you haven’t been there I highly recommend) to get ready at and head back to for their celebration. When everyone was ready, we transitioned up the river to their ceremony location!

With such a small group, we were able to take our time and go with the flow arriving at Government Cove right before sunset. Her brother performed their ceremony as the sun dropped behind the towering hills giving us the most perfect golden glow. Oh gosh, it was just amazing!

We bounced around the area taking it all in, photographing them from every view. Of course an elopement wouldn’t be complete without a champagne (and sparkling Cider) toast to wrap up the celebration.

Can’t Wait To Hang Out Again Soon!

And now that the little dude has officially joined their family, we get to use their included Couple’s Session as a family adventure this spring to continue the story!

I can’t wait to share those images and hear their ideas for that session. Because I know it will be just as fabulous as their Columbia River Gorge Elopement at Government Cove.
