This is coming at you highly requested from the Insta-fam! Sharing with y’all some of my favorite books that I’ve read over the last few months that stand out to me for one reason or another. I’ll break them into categories a bit!
I will link all of my favorite books to Amazon to make it easy for you to find them! I am always updating my Goodreads account so if you’re a book lover too, let’s be friends! It is a great way to track what you’ve read and want to read. Find me here!
One more thing to share that I have loved is I have been a member of Book Of The Month Club for probably two years now?? Most of these books came from there and you get them for lower than retail price! If you’re interested in giving it a try, use this referral link. We both can get a free book and you are able to cancel or “skip a month” at any point! Win win win.
One Day in December – Josie Silver
I loved this book. It made me laugh, it made my cry, it is just a good read. Essentially its a story about “the one who got away” but then your best friend ends up unknowingly dating them. I couldn’t put it down! This author also just released a new book that I’ll list below as it is up next on my list!
Winter in Paradise – Erin Hilderbrand
What I would give to be on a beach in St. John in the Virgin Islands right about now…. This book is the first of a series of three (book three comes out this fall) so it is a perfect time to fall in love with these characters! I started the first book not really knowing what to expect and basically didn’t stop reading until I had finished not only this one, but the second one too! They are relatively light and have multiple love stories going on, but also there are some elements of mystery and what the heck is going on and they are perfect. This series is a great way to pass the time right now!
The Proposal – Jasmine Guillory
This is techhhhhhnically the second book in a series but they all stand alone really well. I have now read the first three books of the series (The Wedding Date is #1) with #4 coming up next week, and #5 is out later this year! They are all great and light and easy to power through, but so far The Proposal has been my favorite!
Ghosted – Rosie Walsh
I didn’t want this book to end! I loved the characters and the story is just so genuine and real. Essentially this woman has an incredible week with man she is sure is going to be her forever. They make plans for the future then…. he ghosts her. This is a definite one to add to the list.
The Whisper Man – Alex North
Creepy, creepy, creepy. But SO good! I can’t say for sure since I’m not one, but maybe stay away from this one if you’re a mama! I could see how it would be extra-sensitive to Moms for sure.
The Broken Girls – Simone St. James
Suchhhhhh a creepy page turner! Definite ghost story vibes and one of my favorites that I’ve read! One of those where you (welll at least I did..) have to take breaks and watch an episode of Gilmore Girls or something to get the scare out of you. LOVED IT! She also recently released a new book that I just finished and it was just as good and scary! You can find that one here: The Sun Down Motel.
The Wife Between Us – Greer Hendricks
The twists and turns of this one will likely give you whiplash. Not a single person that I’ve talked to who read this has been able to predict the ending. Literally even up until the last page of the book things are changing! It is a great read! This author also has a few other books out. I didn’t love An Anonymous Girl and thought is was boring, but they just recently released You Are Not Alone which will be coming up on my list very soon!
The Turn of The Key – Ruth Ware
Guess what, yet another author with a few great books out there. But this one was GREAT!! You spend the whole book trying to make guesses as to who the “bad guy” is. Is it ghosts? Or the creepy caretaker? Is it the love interest? Read and see!
The Last Time I Lied – Riley Sager
For everyone who ever went to summer camp, this ones for you! But in a more dark and people died kinda way…. It made me nostalgic, but also loved the mystery aspect of it! Great book!
These ones are pretty self explanatory haha. I love to incorporate these into my line up, especially this time of year (or right now in the middle of this shit show of life) for an extra mental boost or kick in the pants.
You Are a Badass At Making Money – Jen Sincero
Braving The Wilderness – Brene Brown (and everything else by her)
Big Magic – Elizabeth Gilbert
The Wives – Tarryn Fisher
I started this one last night and I’m already so intrigued just a few pages in! I posted that I was reading this one next and had about 10 people reach out telling me how much they loved it and what a page turner it is! Therefore, I’m even more excited to power through it now.
Royal Holiday – Jasmine Guillory
The 4th book in The Wedding Date series above. I’m now so in love with these characters, that is the reason why I just have to follow them all along!
Little Fires Everywhere – Celeste Ng
This book has been on my shelf for literally a year and just keeps getting pushed back on the list. BUT now that I have watched the first three episodes of the series on Hulu (def recommend!), I am hooked and am mad I haven’t read the book yet! That is to say it clearly is a great story and I’m excited to read it soon!
Please DM me and let me know what you pick and what you think of the books! Is this fun? Should I do this more often? I’m kinda loving it :). In addition remember to read my other blog posts, because those are fun for everyone.
