This wintery wedding in The Dalles, Oregon (my hometown!) was soooooo good for my soul. With the classic church ceremony followed by a reception in the local museum, it was the perfect celebration.

We started off the day at a family home getting ready and taking care of as many portraits we could. The hard thing with winter weddings is your afternoon/evening daylight is limited at best. Add on some questionable weather (it was forecasted to rain but we got lucky!) and you have to take advantage of any moment you can get outside! I love the way their portraits turned out and they have such a perfect, cozy feel.

We then headed down to a local landmark church and of course had to take a couple of photos with the massive steeple in the background! If you have ever driven through or past The Dalles, you have for sure noticed it from the highway. It is nearly impossible to miss! After a sweet ceremony, the church bells were rung while the couple ran down the front steps surrounded and celebrated by their guests to an awaiting limo with their epic wedding party.

Fast forward to some great speeches and some even better dance moves, these two were able to celebrate and dance the night away surrounded with those who love them the most.

Not a single detail was left out, which is even more impressive considering Emily & Joah planned their wedding from a distance. There were touches of burgundy and dusty blue sprinkled throughout and even a cake complete with frosted cranberries! Emily’s dress has also now topped the charts for one of my favorite dresses I’ve seen. I mean…what?! 😍

I ended my 2019 wedding season with this one and Emily & Joah were so kind and thoughtful throughout it all! I’d had a rough couple of weeks leading up to this wedding with some health issues but they treated me with such grace and understanding. I truly am blessed with the best clients.
